This is Dave.
Dave’s an astronomer, teacher and flies remote controlled airplanes.
I met Dave one evening after seeing and hearing these mini airplanes flying over us during a shoot. After wrapping up I was about to head home when I decided to stop by and talk with him for a bit, I hung out and listened about these flying contraptions that he crafts at home, how they work, what they are made of, best batteries to use which was something I never really thought about. I asked if I could shoot some photos of him and the planes, the sun was setting and the moon was in the opposite sky so I knew the photos should have some cool looking light, he said ya and this mini photo story is what transpired.
Moral of this? Go talk to a stranger, create some photos, learn new things, send them the photos and go make more cool stuff.
(Side note: this is the first in a series of rotating galleries from the main site. This was project was first featured in the personal projects page.)

Recent shot, a touch of bohemian. Shot in studio with DSLR and natural light.
Spent a few days in Chicago doing stuff, eating deep dish pizza and walking around the great city. All photos shot and processed on a mobile device with various apps.
