How to Find the Right Freelancer…
How to Find the Right Freelancer

Freelancers can be found all over, from online sites and local groups (like www.kcfreelanceexchange.com) to networking functions and friendly referrals. But you should do some homework before enlisting one’s services, even if they did come highly recommended.
Determine considerations – If face time is essential, consider one who’s close to you or willing to come to you. If you need a freelancer to be available for meetings, brainstorming, or to work onsite during business hours, consider a full-time freelancer as opposed to a moonlighter or part-timer.
Read their bio or résumé – Visit their Web site or request a copy. Note specialties, mediums & industries worked in, & any awards or honors. Ask for a client/account list, too.
View portfolio samples – This will show a sense of style & approach. View these online or request some. Determine whose styles you admire & which would best fit your project.
Meet in person – If time permits, set up a meeting to help determine character, compatibility and personality.
You may also want to investigate a prospective freelancer’s professional background, reputation and dependability. But note, many freelancers will also do this in return to determine fit & ensure timely payments.
Happy searching!
